Zelenskyy meets with military leadership and energy sector to prepare for Russia’s winter attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff to discuss preparations for the winter, according to the President's message on Telegram on Sept. 6.
The military leadership discussed a comprehensive plan to protect critical infrastructure facilities from anything Russia might throw at it.
The parties heard reports from Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, the entire energy sector, the State Special Communications Service, the General Staff, and regional military administrations.
Zelenskyy said that there was still work to be done, and all participants in the process had been given specific tasks with specific deadlines.
"We will pay special attention to this topic," he emphasized.
Russian intelligence is studying the state of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, confirmed the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry (HUR) on July 23. Russia launched its first large-scale missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on Oct. 10, 2022. Over the following months, Ukraine experienced more than 10 waves of large-scale Russian assaults, with the enemy using dozens of missiles of various types and ranges.
The Energy Ministry was forced to cut off electricity to consumers due to power shortages. Despite the difficult winter for Ukrainians, the aggressor failed to achieve its goal of creating a complete blackout in Ukraine.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
