Traitor nabbed in Mykolaiv Oblast for helping Russia prepare strike during Zelenskyy’s visit
A woman was detained while helping the Russian occupiers prepare an air strike on Mykolaiv to coincide with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the area, Ukraine’s SBU Security Service announced on social media on Aug. 7.
The suspected Russian agent tried to find out the schedule of the presidential route in the region.
The SBU managed to stay ahead of her actions and caught her in the act. Additional security measures were taken during Zelensky's visit.
The woman was watched by security agents to collect information about her "curators" and tasks she received, which weren't limited to spying on the Ukrainian president.
She also traveled to photograph electronic warfare systems and ammunition warehouses in the area near Ochakiv on the Black Sea coast, as well.
The occupiers wanted the information to prepare another mass air attack on Mykolaiv Oblast.
The woman was arrested while attempting to transfer the collected data. She is an Ochakiv resident who worked as a saleswoman in a store at a military base in the region.
She traveled across the Ochakiv District to capture Ukrainian Armed Forces locations to study the location of crucial objects. She also tried to collect data through her contacts in the region, especially in social services.
The suspected traitor was detained and faces up to 12 years in prison under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the direction, movement, weapons and ammunition in Ukraine, movement, relocation or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), if found guilty.
Zelenskyy visited Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa oblasts in the end of July. He visited a medical stabilization center in Ochakiv.
