Germany provides Ukraine with two more IRIS-T air defense systems in new aid package

The German government has updated the list of equipment it is providing to Ukraine as part of the country's latest military aid package, adding two further IRIS-T air defense systems, according to a statement on the government's website dated Aug. 17.
As of Aug. 17, the new package also includes:
4,359 155 mm smoke shells,
10 GO12 ground surveillance radars,
4 HX81 8×8 tank transporters and 4 compatible semi-trailers,
8 multi-purpose loaders with a lifting capacity of 15 tons.
On Aug. 14, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner stated that Berlin plans to allocate EUR 5 billion annually to help support Ukraine.
On Aug. 9, Germany announced the transfer of two more Patriot missile launchers to Ukraine. It also confirmed the transfer of additional Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine, which German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall had previously purchased from Belgium.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
