Usyk vs. Dubois: What to know ahead of one of the biggest boxing events of 2023
In one of the biggest boxing fights of 2023, Ukraine’s world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is in Poland to defend his titles against Daniel Dubois at Wroclaw’s Tarchinski Arena on Aug. 26.

Oleksandr Usyk was born on January 17, 1987, in Simferopol, Ukraine.
The former undisputed world champion in the cruiserweight division now holds the WBA, WBO, IBF, and The Ring heavyweight championships.
He became the undisputed cruiserweight champion after soundly beating Russia’s Murat Gassiev in the World Boxing Super Series championship final in 2019.
2012 Olympic champion, 2011 world champion, 2008 European champion.
Usyk has never been beaten as a professional. He has won all 20 of his fights, with 13 coming by knockout.
This is Usyk’s first fight since defending his belts in an immediate rematch versus Anthony Joshua on Aug. 20, 2022.
Daniel Dubois was born on September 6, 1997, in London, UK.
Dubois is the WBA “regular” world champion (ed. see note below) and has held a number of other regional belts, including the Commonwealth and British titles.
As a professional, Dubois is 19-1 with 18 wins coming by knockout. His sole loss was against countryman Joe Joyce in a title fight in November 2020.
His most recent fight was against Kevin Lerena on July 3, where Dubois won by TKO in the third round.

Who is the favorite?
If the oddsmakers have anything to say about it, Usyk is the favorite headed into the fight. The odds for an Usyk triumph stand at 1.14, while his opponent has odds of 7.50. A draw has 26.00 odds.
Oddsmakers don’t believe that Dubois will make it through the entire fight either. The odds that the fight ends early are at 1.37, with 3.05 odds that the fight goes the distance.
