● White House tells Congress U.S. is ‘out of money and nearly out of time’ to avoid ‘kneecaping’ Ukraine
The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden has sent Congress an urgent warning about the need to approve tens of billions of dollars in military and economic assistance to Ukraine, saying Kyiv’s war effort to defend itself from Russia’s invasion may grind to a halt without it, the Associated Press reported on Dec. 4.
● Poroshenko confirms he planned meetings with leaders of 'skeptical' EU countries
Former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, who now leads the European Solidarity political party, was going to meet with leaders of EU countries wary of supporting Ukraine to try and persuade them to change their position, Poroshenko said at a press briefing on Dec. 4.
● EU executive rebuffs Orban's claim that Ukraine's path to membership was ‘poorly prepared’
The European Commission has responded to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's claim that the plan to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU was "poorly prepared," saying it stands by the recommendation and does not consider it unreasonable.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has created parallel tracks for communication with commanders of various branches of the military, which bypasses the Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, NV’s sister outlet Ukrainska Pravda reported on Dec. 4.
● Majority of Ukrainian combat drones produced domestically — Minister Kamyshin
Ukraine is manufacturing "the absolute majority" of UAVs used at the battlefield, from budget FPV (first-person view) to long-range strike drones, Strategic Industries Minister Oleksandr Kamyshin said in a Telegram post on Dec. 4.

EU leaders risk leaving Ukraine empty-handed at a perilous moment in its war against Russia as a budget dispute threatens a EUR 50 billion ($53.4 billion) lifeline for Kyiv and Hungary vows to thwart its EU membership talks, UK newspaper the Financial Times has reported.
● Bulgarian president overrides parliament, blocks transfer of APCs for Ukraine's war effort
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has vetoed a bill passed by the legislature that would have allowed Ukraine to receive armored vehicles free of charge, news outlet Nova Bulgaria reported on Dec. 4.
● Ukraine begins security guarantee consultations with European Union
Ukraine has started its first round of negotiations on security guarantees with the European Union, the President’s Office said in a press release on Dec. 4.
● Ukrainian-Polish historical drama ‘Carol of the Bells’ set to premiere on Netflix
The Ukrainian-Polish historical drama “Carol of the Bells,” which focuses on the events of the Second World War, will premiere on the Netflix streaming service on Dec. 13, allowing viewers around the world to watch the film, which debuted in Ukrainian theaters in Jan. 2023.
● Seriously injured Ukrainian defender speaks of his treatment and family support
Forty-eight-year-old veteran Oleksiy Popovych, who followed his son to defend Ukraine after the full-scale invasion and lost an arm in combat, told the UNBROKEN Ukraine National Rehabilitation Center the story of his treatment and how his wife, Yulia, supports him.
