Zelenskyy sanctions another 400 people and companies, including banks, political parties, and war criminals
PresidentVolodymyr Zelenskyy has sanctioned 40 individuals and 382 companies on the recommendations of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, according to presidential decrees Nos. 235/2023 and 236/2023 posted on the official website on April 22.
The sanctions target 25 Russians, four Swiss, two Iranians, and eight Malians, including MPs Mohamed Ould Mataly and Sheikh Mohamed Ousmane Ag Mohamedoune.
Restrictions were imposed against the families of Russian oligarch Vladimir Potanin, oligarch and member of Russia’s Federation Council, Suleiman Kerimov, and Akhmat Battalion mercenary, Ochur-Suge Mongush – the man journalists identified as brutally tortured a Ukrainian prisoner of war on video.
Several Russian technology enterprises, scientific research institutes, and centers associated with the military industry were targeted, as well as the Russian Central Election Commission, Russian political parties (including New People, LDPR, Russia’s Communist Party, and Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth), and banks (Dalnevostochny Bank, Rosbank, and others).
Others included on the new sanctions list include companies registered in Switzerland, Luxembourg, France, Cyprus, and Malta, as well as the terrorist organization “DPR’s” fake “ministry for civil defense, emergencies and elimination of consequences of natural disasters.”
Zelenskyy previously imposed sanctions against 438 individuals and 254 companies on April 15, including Russian athletes and IT companies.
