Zelenskyy’s trip to Finland and Netherlands secures additional weapons from allies
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s
talks with European leaders during his trip to Finland and the
Netherlands have secured additional military aid to Ukraine, along with
further commitments to hold Moscow accountable for its crimes of aggression,
Zelenskyy said in his evening address on May 5.
“I'm happy to say that, as a result of our meetings in Helsinki and The Hague, we have a powerful reinforcement of weapons for our troops – on land, in the air, and at sea,” said Zelenskyy.
“I thank our partners! This is a significant reinforcement. We have made more progress towards NATO and the European Union. We have made more progress towards holding Russia responsible for its aggression against our state.”
Zelenskyy also said that he met with the Foreign Minister of Bahrain on May 5, who arrived in Ukraine for the first time in the history of bilateral relations between the countries. He also participated in the United24 charity platform anniversary summit, and held a meeting with a delegation of the U.S. Congress.
On May 3, the president visited Finland, and on May 4 – the Netherlands. He met with the leadership of the countries and representatives of the International Criminal Court, participated in the Ukraine – Northern Europe summit, and addressed the Dutch parliament.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
