Zelenskyy, New Zealand’s PM discuss military training, humanitarian aid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins on May 1, the Ukrainian leader reported on Telegram.
“Thanked New Zealand for the participation in the training of our military,” he said.
“We count on its continuation, as well as on further cooperation on defense and humanitarian issues.”
The leaders also discussed the need for further consolidation of the countries of the Pacific region in supporting Ukraine, Zelenskyy noted.
New Zealand has systematically supported Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of the country.
New Zealand Defense Minister Peeni Henare visited Kyiv in Nov. 2022 to reaffirm the nation’s support for Ukraine. He also met with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksii Reznikov.
New Zealand announced in late 2022 that it would provide Ukraine with around $2 million for the purchase of transformers, power generators, and medical supplies.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
