Zelenskyy and Norway's prime minister discuss air defense and winter aid in Oslo

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Oslo on September 9 to discuss boosting Ukraine’s air defenses and winter preparations, according to an official statement.
“I spoke with Jonas about strengthening Ukraine's air defense, our need for interceptor missiles, further work on the FREYJA missile defense program, and preparing Ukraine for winter,” Zelenskyy stated.
Zelenskyy thanked Støre for the meeting and for Norway's continued support.
The president also expressed his condolences over the death of King Harald V of Norway, emphasizing that Ukraine deeply appreciates the continuous support from the royal family and the Norwegian people.
Zelenskyy arrived in Norway with First Lady Olena Zelenska.
The couple will attend the funeral service for King Harald V, which is scheduled for September 9. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. local time at Oslo Cathedral.
King Harald V previously hosted Zelenskyy at the Royal Palace in Oslo in December 2023. Queen Sonja, along with then-Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, also attended the audience.
Throughout his public speeches, the late king frequently condemned Russian aggression.
