In a video posted by Ukraine’s special operations unit BRAVO Team on Aug. 12, Ukrainian armored vehicles can be seen driving around the barren streets of downtown Sudzha, Kursk Oblast.
In the video, the soldiers say they are moving across the central square in Sudzha. Analysts from VoxCheck, in collaboration with Suspilne, determined that the soldiers were traveling along Karl Marx Street, then turning onto Soviet Square.
Previously, another video appeared featuring a Ukrainian soldier claiming to be in Sudzha. Analysts confirmed it was also filmed in the city. The exact date the operations were recorded is unknown.
Earlier on Aug. 12, various social media accounts reported that Ukrainian military equipment likely passed through the village of Girii in the Belovsky district of Kursk Oblast, approximately 30 km southeast of Sudzha. Local Russian authorities ordered the evacuation of residents.
On the same day, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Ukraine now controls 1,000 square kilometers in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.
