Video shows Ukrainian forces removing Russian flag in Kursk Oblast

The 225th Separate Assault Battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared a video on Facebook on Aug. 12, showing Ukrainian soldiers taking down the Russian tricolor from an administrative building after a clearing operation.
The video’s caption indicates that the soldiers were in Daryino, Kursk Oblast.
In the footage, a soldier is seen reaching up to the Russian flag on the building’s wall and then throwing it to the ground.
During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Aug. 12, the acting governor of Kursk Oblast acknowledged that 28 settlements in the region are under Ukrainian control. The "depth of penetration" by Ukrainian forces is reportedly 12 kilometers deep and 40 kilometers wide. On Aug. 11, the BBC reported that Ukrainian troops had advanced 30 kilometers into Russia.
Forbes previously reported that Ukrainian forces are strengthening their positions in Kursk Oblast, with more than 10,000 troops already deployed there.
