Ukrainian soldier reports on situation in Bakhmut, and about enemy attacks

It's "hotter than hell" in the front-line town of Bakhmut right now, as Russian occupiers continue to attack, a grenade launcher soldier of the 5th separate assault brigade, Yuriy – aka Mamai – Syrotyuk said on national television on May 4.
"Since we control the area of multi-storey buildings, the southwestern entrance to the city, the Bakhmut-Kostiantynivka road and are trying to keep the Bakhmut-Chasiv Yar road, the enemy is trying to cut these communications off,” Syrotyuk said.
“(The enemy) is trying to attack from the Ivanivske direction, and we are constantly repelling attacks under very heavy artillery fire," Syrotyuk said.
The brigade counted more than 40 155-mm artillery shells fired by the enemy "at a small area of ground" in less than 30 minutes last night, “Mamai” said.
"It’s very hot. Probably hotter than hell. The enemy is in a hurry. It has the task of taking Bakhmut by some date or other, at any cost," he said.
The enemy is trying to detect any movements of the Ukrainian army and direct artillery fire with the help of large numbers of Orlan reconnaissance drones, Syrotyuk said.
"The situation is tough at the moment," he said.
