Ukraine to unveil comprehensive peace plan in 2024 - Zelenskyy
Kyiv is working on a "clear and detailed" plan to end the war, which will be ready this year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press briefing with his Slovenian counterpart Nataša Pirc Musar on June 28.
"The diplomatic path chosen by Ukraine is our initiative, because we are a victim of this war," he said.
"The (global) peace summit has ended, and now we are working on three plans: energy, food security and (prisoner) exchange. I am sure that we will solve these problems. We will prepare a detailed plan in the near future."
The goal is to present a plan that will be supported by the majority of the world in order to end the conflict. Zelenskyy also mentioned that Kyiv will develop all other points of the peace formula and create a comprehensive plan, "which will be on the table in front of all partners".
"This is the diplomatic way we are working on. But, not everything depends on Ukraine," he said.
Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar arrived in Kyiv on an official visit to sign a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine.
Switzerland hosted the first Global Peace Summit, initiated by Ukraine on June 15-16, excluding the aggressor country, Russia. China also refused to participate.
The summit was attended by about 100 delegations, including 57 heads of state and government from around the world.
On June 21, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Igor Zhovkva said that Ukraine plans to hold a second peace summit by the end of 2024.
