Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited frontline positions near the town of Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast on the Day of Special Operations Forces (SOF), according to a video posted on his official Telegram channel on July 29.
He congratulated the soldiers, presented them with state awards, and held a meeting with the Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Ukraine celebrates the Day of Special Operations Forces on July 29. This is one of the youngest formations in the Armed Forces, established in 2016. SOF fighters often perform the most difficult and dangerous tasks on the front lines and behind enemy lines.
