The Ukrainian Parliamentary Committee on National Security,
Defense, and Intelligence approved the extension of martial law and
conscription, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, an MP from the Holos party, reported on
Telegram on July 23.
The committee passed the bills unanimously, with all 13 votes in favor, Zheleznyak said.
The measures now require more than 226 votes from the Parliament and the president’s signature, Zheleznyak said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier proposed the bills to the Parliament to extend both martial law and conscription periods.
