Ukrainian MP Honcharenko to chair the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees, and Displaced Persons

Ukrainian European Solidarity party MP Oleksiy Honcharenko will become the new chair of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons, he announced on Telegram.
The decision has already been made and will be formally approved at a PACE 2024 session in January, he said.
"This is the first time in PACE history that a Ukrainian becomes the Migration Committee Chair,” he announced. “It is crucial. Especially when millions of Ukrainians live in Europe."
Honcharenko will also become a PACE Bureau member. He thanked European colleagues for their support and trust.
The PACE Bureau approved the creation of the Special Committee for Ukrainian Children's Affairs on Nov. 27, 2023. It is chaired by Ukrainian delegate Olena Khomenko. Other members include Evheniia Kravchuk, Mariia Mezentseva, Pavlo Sushko, Larysa Bilozir and Oleksandra Ustinova.
