Ukrainian intel provides insight into recent bold raid in occupied Crimea

Andriy Yusov, a representative of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR), described the latest operation to land Ukrainian troops in the temporarily occupied Crimea in a comment to news outlet RBC-Ukraine on Oct. 4.
A "fierce battle" took place during the landing in Crimea, Yusov said.
"It was a sabotage and reconnaissance operation," Yusov said.
“It involved certain activities on the territory and the return of the extraction team. Our groups have already returned.”
Russia lost a lot of soldiers killed during the operation, Yusov said. HUR's special forces also suffered losses, but they were not comparable to those of the Russians, he said.
"Unfortunately, de-occupation is impossible without losses," Yusov concluded.
“This is, in particular, the price for surrendering Ukrainian Crimea without a fight in 2014. Ukraine will definitely return Crimea and all the occupied territories.”
Special forces of Ukrainian military intelligence landed in the temporarily occupied Crimea on Oct. 4 and attacked Russian troop s there.
HUR units previously infiltrated Crimea on Aug. 24 when a battle involving aviation took place on the peninsula at about 5 a.m. Later it emerged that Ukrainian intel units, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Navy, had landed in Crimea.
Yusov said that as a result of that special operation of Ukraine’s HUR with the support of the Ukrainian Navy in the temporarily occupied Crimea, intelligence officers damaged four speedboats and killed at least 30 Russians.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces now regularly attack the occupied Crimea. On Sept. 22, powerful explosions occurred in Sevastopol, as a missile strike destroyed the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
According to media reports, British Storm Shadow missiles were used in this attack. The Special Operations Forces units ensured the missiles hit the headquarters during a meeting of the Black Sea Fleet leadership.
The Special Operations Forces stated that 34 Russian officers, including the Black Sea Fleet Commander, were killed in the attack on the Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol. Another 105 Russians were wounded.
