Ukrainian Navy confirms destruction of Russian ferry at Port of Kavkaz

The Russian ferry Conro Trader was destroyed in the Port of Kavkaz in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk announced on Radio Svoboda on Aug. 23.
“We can confirm that this target was destroyed by the Naval Forces. No further details... This ferry was a crucial link in supplying occupation forces,” Pletenchuk said.
The Conro Trader primarily transported fuel and lubricants, as well as weapons, making it a legitimate target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russian media reported on Aug. 22 that the Ukrainian forces had struck a railway ferry carrying fuel tanks at the Port of Kavkaz. Later, local Russian authorities confirmed that the Conro Trader ferry had been attacked and sunk. The ferry was carrying 30 fuel tanks and had 15 crew members on board.
News agency Ukrainska Pravda, citing a source within the Defense Forces command, reported that the ferry was likely hit by a Ukrainian Neptune missile.
Russian officials claim that all crew members were rescued.
