HUR special forces execute daring commando raid in Crimea, strike at Russian invaders
Special Forces from Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, known by its Ukrainian acronym HUR, executed a daring landing operation in Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimea, striking a blow at the Russian invaders, the HUR reported on Telegram on Oct. 4.
“Stuhna and Brotherhood Special Forces, as part of the HUR’s special unit under Tymur, landed on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula, inflicting a fire strike on Moscow invaders,” the HUR announcement reads.
In particular, the HUR statement underscored Ukraine’s unwavering claim to Crimea, emphasizing that the territory will ultimately return to Ukrainian control.
This operation follows previous HUR incursions into Crimea, most notably the battle that took place on Aug. 24, involving aerial combat at approximately 5 a.m. Later, it was confirmed that HUR units, in close coordination with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, had carried out a well-executed landing operation on Crimean soil.
Andriy Yusov, the HUR spokesperson, said that as a result of the HUR special operation, which was supported by the Ukrainian Navy, Ukrainian reconnaissance units had damaged four high-speed boats and eliminated at least 30 Russian invaders in occupied Crimea.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces now regularly launch attacks on Russian-occupied Crimea. Sevastopol, a key city in Crimea, experienced a series of powerful explosions on Sept. 22, when a missile strike destroyed the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, a crucial military installation in the region.
Reports suggest that British Storm Shadow missiles were used in this operation. Special Operations Forces operatives ensured the missiles hit the buulding during a briefing held for the senior leadership of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
According to Special Operations Forces, the attack in Sevastopol resulted in the elimination of 34 Russian officers, including the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, with an additional 105 occupiers sustaining injuries.
