Ukraine announces formation of Robot and electronic warfare armies – deputy PM Fedorov

Ukraine is approaching the creation of the Robot Army and the Electronic Warfare (EW) Army, deputy PM and Digital Transformation Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced at the ForbesTech-2023 event, Interfax-Ukraine reported on Nov. 24.
“We will soon launch the Robot Army, the EW Army. We will rely on our ideology – opening up the market, transparency, and the maximum possibility to involve entrepreneurs who have already created various products, who know how to scale products,” said Fedorov.
This revelation follows the collaborative effort of the Digital Transformation Ministry, the Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff, and the State Special Communications in initiating a fundraising campaign for the Drone Army project within the UNITED24 crowdfunding platform back in July 2022.
The Ukrainian government regularly updates on drone transfers to the military and reports notable successes in countering Russian occupation and equipment with their assistance.
Earlier developments include the creation of the Ukrainian kamikaze robot Ratel S, designed for tank destruction, and testing of the Backfire drone, demonstrating resilience to Russian electronic warfare.
