Ukraine downs eight suicide drones and two missiles in bloody overnight Russian attack on Odesa
Three civilians were killed and almost 30 injured in a Russian attack with eight Iranian-made Shahed drones and two missiles on Odesa Oblast overnight on June 10, spokesperson of the Ukrainian military’s South Operational Command Natalia Humeniuk has reported.
All of the enemy aerial targets were shot down, but falling debris caused casualties in the southern port city, Humeniuk said on Ukrainian national television in the morning on June 10.
Drone wreckage set fire to an apartment of a high-raised residential building in Odesa, and the blast wave from its impact killed three civilians.
Another 26 civilians were injured, including a pregnant woman and two children.
Russia also launched missiles on a resort in Odesa Oblast. Ukraine air defence intercepted two of them, while another hit the coast of the Black Sea.
"People should pay attention to air raid warnings. With no success at the frontline, the enemy is getting mad and is targeting the areas behind the front line," Humeniuk said.
Air raid sirens sounded in a number of Ukrainian regions on the night of June 10. Besides Odesa, Russia also attacked Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, where Ukrainian air defence shot down two Shahed drones and saved the region from casualties.
An air raid alert sounded in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv overnight, but it turned out to be a false alarm generated by Russian electronic warfare generating false ballistic missile launch signals, Ukrainian air raid monitoring channels said.
