Ukraine dismisses media reports of problems with counteroffensive

Reports in Western media of apparent “pessimism among Ukrainian soldiers” and other issues with Ukraine’s upcoming counteroffensive are simply untrue, said National Security and Defense Council secretary Oleksiy Danilov on national television on March 14.
"All this is not true; today a new stage is starting," Danilov said.
“Yes, there is a difficult situation. We have been waging a war against a large country, a great territory, but not (great) minds for more than a year. We understand that it will be difficult for us and we have appreciated this from the very beginning.”
The official was commenting on an article in U.S. newspaper the Washington Post that alleged that pessimism was growing in the Ukrainian army due to heavy losses and a lack of experienced soldiers.
"We read these newspapers very carefully before Feb. 24 (2022), when they all unanimously told us here that there would be trouble, that we would not be able to hold on," Danilov recalled.
“They were already writing us off in advance as a losing country.”
The secretary suggested that such information may appear as Russia attempts to impose the division of Ukraine according to the "Korean" peace model.
Earlier, on Feb. 28 Defense Intelligence head Kyrylo Budanov said the next three months in Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine will be very active and will determine the future outcome of the conflict.
In an address the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was preparing new "active moves" by the Defense Forces.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
