Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne signed an agreement to establish and operate the French Development Agency (AFD) in the presence of Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Emmanuel Macron, the ministry reported on June 8.
The AFD group, which includes the Society for Promotion and Participation in Economic Cooperation (PROPARCO) and Expertise France, will provide financial and technical assistance to Ukrainian businesses, focusing on projects that promote stability, development, poverty reduction, and equality.
The agreement allows the group to provide financial support in various forms, including loans, grants, and guarantees, as well as any form of financial or technical assistance to Ukrainian public or private enterprises, banking institutions, associations or organizations, or any legal entity located in the country.
During their meeting in Paris, Zelenskyy and Macron also signed agreements worth €200 million ($215 million) to help restore Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
Earlier Le Monde wrote about two agreements to be signed by the leaders in Paris on June 7 for a total amount of EUR 650 million ($707 million) in loans and grants to develop Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
