Defensive military equipment that the United Kingdom could send to Ukraine has run out, The Telegraph reported on Oct. 3, citing an unnamed military official.
According to this source, London will continue to supply weapons to Kyiv, but Ukraine presently requires anti-aircraft defense systems and artillery ammunition, both of which the UK is fresh out of.
"We have given as much as we can afford," the official said.
The source added that the burden of supplying billions in aid to Ukraine should not fall solely onto London.
“Providing billions more [in arms supplies] doesn't mean providing billions in British weapons,” said the official.
“London should play a certain role in encouraging other countries to provide more money and weapons.”
He also reported that there are no prospects of providing Ukraine with more UK Challenger tanks because London has "practically handed over everything it could afford to provide."
On Oct. 1, UK PM Rishi Sunak dismissed the possibility of dispatching military instructors to Ukraine in the near future.
