Two dead, five injured in Russian missile attacks on Ukraine, toll likely to rise
Ukraine was rocked by multiple air raid alerts in the early hours of Aug. 28 after Russia launched multiple missile attacks, with two fatalities reported in Poltava Oblast.
"A strike targeted a civilian industrial facility in Hoholeve, located within the Myrhorod district of Poltava Oblast. As a result of the attack, two people were killed and five were injured," the President's Chief of Staff, Andriy Yermak, reported this morning.
Two people are still missing, and search and rescue operations, along with debris clearance, are currently underway, according to the Head of Poltava Oblast Military Administration Dmytro Lunin.
Four Kalibr cruise missiles were launched from an enemy frigate in the Black Sea near Feodosia in occupied Crimea. Additionally, Russia deployed two guided Kh-59 missiles from Su-34 aircraft, targeting Kryvyi Rih from airspace over occupied Kherson Oblast.
Air defense units also operated in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with explosions heard in Kryvyi Rih. Four aerial targets were successfully destroyed.
