Trump continues to attack US military, calling top brass ‘dumbest people ever met’

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has made yet another controversial statement at an election campaign rally in Iowa, calling the U.S. military's top brass "some of the dumbest people," specifically mentioning recently retired U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley.
"And one of them said to me, Milley, he said, 'Sir, it would be cheaper if we left everything.' I said, 'Where does this guy come from? A brand new airplane costs $128 million, right?' I said, 'You mean you think it's cheaper to leave it than to fill it up with a little fuel and take it somewhere – even if you just fly it to Pakistan and bring it back home. Or you fly it home, most of them can make that journey, right?' 'No, sir, it's better to leave it,'" Trump told his potential voters.
"Some of the dumbest people I've ever met in my life," he said to cheers from the crowd, after making several other remarks.
It's unclear whether Trump's story was true.
Meanwhile, Trump has used his official Aug. 24 "arrest photo" in Atlanta's Fulton County Jail in a record-breaking fundraising campaign. Despite facing criminal charges, he plans to run for president, and his approval ratings have risen since his formal arrest.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
