Fighting is in our favor, second stage of Ukrainian counter-offensive can begin, claims Melnyk

The second phase of the Ukrainian military’s counter-offensive has begun, according to the head of foreign policy and international security programs at the Razumkov Center, Oleksiy Melnyk, in an interview with Radio NV on July 27.
The following is an excerpt from his full interview:
Indeed, it can be said that there is now a tipping point somewhere between the initial phase [and the next phase].
What we've seen over the past two months has shown that, even with the most careful planning, war is full of surprises.
The fact that the Ukrainians, the Ukrainian command, were ready for the fact that the Russians built an echelon defense and that there were many carpet mines, does not mean that the original counter-offensive plan should be implemented step by step…
Therefore, it is clear that some adjustments took place during this time. Some adjustments have been made in planning the tactics of how our forces are deployed, including at the grassroots level.
Other processes have also taken place in parallel. This destruction of the enemy's artillery is quite effective, which is recognized even by our enemy. This was achieved by active counter-battery fighting. Now it is obvious that Ukraine has an advantage in artillery.
Therefore, one can conditionally assume (or hope) that now there will be another, second stage of the offensive campaign.
As is known from various sources, Ukraine, despite all the enemy's efforts to provoke us to introduce reserves in the north-eastern direction, has not yet introduced its main reserves into the counter-offensive.
If the assessments are correct that the Russian reserves are mainly military units that have been thrown from one direction to another, then the Russians do not have powerful reserves that have not yet been used in the war. As such, one can hope that the situation is made for our benefit.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
