Russians down own drone in Crimea, mistaking it for Ukrainian one

Russian propaganda claimed that a "Ukrainian" drone was destroyed in the sky over occupied Crimea on June 6.
Photos of the wreckage were posted on social media, including by the Kremlin-appointed puppet leader on the peninsula, Sergei Aksenov.
"In the eastern part of Crimea, an enemy UAV was jammed and downed by electronic warfare," Aksenov reported.
“There were no casualties or damage. Please keep calm and trust only reliable sources of information.”
But it turned out Aksenov himself was a source of unreliable information.
It quickly emerged that the photos circulated by the Russians showed one of their own Iranian-made Mohajer-6 drones. Images of the Russian-operated drone were even posted on the so-called "z-channels" on Telegram, which support Russia’s war and disseminate Kremlin propaganda.
"There was probably friendly fire," embarrassed propagandists later admitted.
The Iranian-origin of the downed UAV is evident from details visible on its wing and landing gear.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
