Russia will accuse Ukraine’s top officials of having Russian passports in disinformation campaign — SBU

Russian special services are preparing a series of provocations targeting representatives of Ukraine’s defense and security forces, according to the new information uncovered by the SBU Security Service of Ukraine during its counter-intelligence activities.
Employees of the 5th Service of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) are planning several information-psychological operations (IPSOs), the SBU announced in a June 15 press release.
These operations are based on disseminating disinformation about the alleged Russian citizenship of Ukrainian government officials, the leadership of the defense and security forces, as well as their families and other officials.
To ensure the credibility and evidentiary basis of these fabricated claims, the FSB intends to register false records in Russian state registries that allegedly support the version put forth by hostile intelligence services. They also plan to forge documents of Ukrainian government officials and representatives of the defense forces.
The implementation of this hostile IPSO in the Ukrainian information space is scheduled to start shortly, the SBU believes.
“Unable to achieve success on the battlefield, the enemy aims to erode the psychological and emotional well-being of Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines and destabilize the situation in the country by any means,” stated the SBU.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
