Russia targets Ukraine with 120 missiles and 90 drones, over 140 intercepted

During a massive coordinated strike on Nov. 17, Russian
forces launched approximately 120 missiles and 90 drones against Ukraine. Air
defense systems successfully intercepted more than 140 airborne targets,
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported.
Zelenskyy said the attack involved various types of drones,
including Shaheds, as well as cruise, ballistic, and aeroballistic missiles
such as Zircons, Iskanders, and Kinzhals.
The president emphasized that Russia’s primary target was
Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. To counter the attack, Ukraine deployed
surface-to-air missile systems, fighter aircraft, including F-16s, Sukhoi jets,
and MiGs, as well as mobile fire teams and electronic warfare units.
On Aug. 26, Russia had carried out another large-scale
assault, deploying 127 missiles and 109 attack drones. At that time, Ukraine’s
Air Force intercepted 102 missiles and 99 drones.
