Russia loses 1k soldiers, 18 tanks, and 4 air defense systems in Ukraine over past day
Russia's overall losses reached 567,760 soldiers, about 1,050 were killed over the past 24 hours alone, Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reported on Facebook on July 22.
The Russian army also lost substantial equipment in Ukraine:
- tanks: 8,284 (+18)
- armored combat vehicles: 15,980 (+17)
- artillery systems: 15,637 (+51)
- multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS): 1,123 (+2)
- air defense systems: 900 (+4)
- aircraft: 362
- helicopters: 326
- operational-tactical UAVs: 12,475 (+73)
- cruise missiles: 2,401
- ships/boats: 28
- submarines: 1
- vehicles and fuel tanks: 21,138 (+102)
- special equipment: 2,637 (+21).
Russian losses in the war against Ukraine
Russia loses six soldiers per one killed Ukrainian defender, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in June.
At least 45,000 Russian soldiers were killed in the war in 2023 alone, Russian demographers, citing data from RosStat, estimated on June 27.
Between 462,000 and 728,000 Russian military personnel have been killed or wounded in the war, The Economist reported on July 7, referencing classified Pentagon documents.
Russia's average daily casualties surged to unprecedented levels in May and June, with daily losses of 1,262 and 1,163 soldiers, respectively. Approximately 70,000 Russian soldiers were killed in Ukraine over the past two months, British intelligence reported on July 12.
