Russia’s Foreign Ministry says US Senator Graham is wanted over out-of-context quote

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has declared U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham wanted over a quote taken out of context, Russian news agency NSN reported on May 29.
“Grounds for search: Article of the Criminal Code,” reads a post on Graham on the Foreign Ministry’s website.
At the same time, the agency does not specify the article under which the U.S. senator is wanted.
Earlier, the media released a video of a meeting between U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during which Graham allegedly called the death of Russians and U.S. military aid to Ukraine “the best money we’ve ever spent.”
The Kremlin criticized Graham for his comments, while the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered to initiate a criminal case against the senator for “Russophobic statements.”
In turn, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called Graham’s words a “disgrace.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry claimed that one of the U.S. “investments” had already led to World War II. However, these are two separate phrases that are not related to each other.
The Reuters news agency later criticized the Russian claims, which were attributed to Senator Graham. According to journalists, the senator used the controversial remarks in a different context in the conversation with Zelenskyy.
