Russians attempt to prevent Ukrainian advance towards northern border, says General Staff

On the Kharkiv axis, invading Russian forces are trying to prevent the advance of Ukrainian troops towards Ukraine’s northern border with Russia, the General Staff of Ukraine reported on July 18.
The Russian army opened fire on the city of Kharkiv and the settlements of Derhachi, Pechenihy, Prudyanka, Ruski Tyshki, Pytomnyk, Korobochkine.
Enemy air forces launched airstrikes near Verkhnyi Saltiv and Rubizhne.
On the Slovyansk axis, Russian forces used artillery to shell the residential areas of the settlements of Novomykolaivka, Dibrovne, Kostyantynivka, Bohorodychne, Mazanivka, Kurulka, Chepil, Virnopillya, Nova Dmytrivka and others. An airstrike was carried out near Bohorodychne.
