Russia hits Odesa with kamikaze drones, damages apartment buildings and injures people

Russian forces launched an attack on Odesa using kamikaze drones, injuring at least six people, regional governor, Oleh Kiper, said on Telegram on Jan. 25.
A drone struck a partially occupied newly constructed high-rise in the Khadzhybey district, igniting a fire. Apartments were affected, and one person suffered burns and was hospitalized. The fire in the new building has been extinguished, Odesa City Council reported. Specialists will assess the extent of damage to supporting structures, according to Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
Debris from another drone fell through the roof of a two-story residential building in the Prymorskyi district. The blast damaged windows in nearby houses and incinerated a parked car. Four people were injured; they received on-site assistance and are undergoing outpatient treatment. Rescuers successfully freed one of the victims from under the rubble.
Another drone crashed near a multi-story building in the Prymorskyi district without detonation or casualties. Explosive experts are working at the scene.
Russians also targeted a storage facility of a furniture factory in the industrial area of Odesa, causing a powerful fire. A man riding a bicycle nearby was thrown to the ground by the shockwave, sustaining injuries from fragments. Medical assistance was provided, and he received outpatient treatment.
Police are documenting the consequences of the Russian attack.
Air raid sirens were activated in multiple Ukrainian oblasts on the evening of January 24. The Ukrainian Air Force reported Russian tactical aviation activity and the potential threat of kamikaze drones in these regions.
