Kyiv sky lights up as Russian missile barrage unleashed
Russia launched cruise and ballistic missiles at Kyiv on the morning of Jan. 23, the city’s military administration reported on Telegram.
This is the second missile strike on Kyiv since the beginning of 2024.
The air raid alert in the capital lasted two and a half hours.
Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers based at Engels-2 airbase in Saratov Oblast launched two waves of cruise missiles. As the cruise missiles entered Kyiv's airspace, the enemy also fired ballistic missiles at the capital.
As a result of the attack, an apartment in a multi-story residential building caught fire from falling debris. Parked cars were also set ablaze. One person was killed and 20 others were injured. 13 people were hospitalized, including three children, Kyiv authorities reported.
The entryway of a building in Kharkiv was also destroyed as a result of Russian attacks on. Three people were confirmed killed in Kharkiv, with at least 40 more injured, including three teenagers and a policeman.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
