Russian police officer attempts to kill resident for displaying blue-and-yellow ribbons
Anti-Ukrainian propaganda has saturated the Russian cultural sphere to such an extent that it almost led to the murder of a Russian citizen in Pechora, Komi Republic, for displaying blue-and-yellow ribbons, according to The Insider.
A local police officer noticed that an apartment on his beat had blue and yellow ribbons on its balcony.
Without hesitating, the officer decided to act in a manner befitting Russian culture and beat the apartment’s resident, threatening to kill him in the process.
"The police officer saw from the window of his house a balcony with yellow and blue ribbons and went to the owner of the apartment with a friend. They decided that the owner of the balcony had purposefully placed things in the colors of the Ukrainian flag,” The Insider reported.
“The victim opened the door for them, and the officer and his acquaintance led him to the balcony, where they threw the man over the railing and threatened to drop him. After that, they beat him.
The incident took place over the summer and has only recently come to light.
In a moment of remarkable accountability for Russian law enforcement, the officer was fired and faces criminal prosecution, so expect to see him join a prisoner battalion in the Wagner group in the coming months.
