Pentagon denies Russian claim it hit stores of western weapons in Ukraine
The Pentagon has no indications that any western equipment or shipments have been hit or deterred by Russian attacks in Ukraine, U.S. Department of Defense spokesperson John Kirby said during a press briefing on April 19.
Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, on April 18 said that a Ukrainian logistics center near the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, which he claimed held a large batch of foreign weapons, had been destroyed in a Russian missile strike.
Kirby pushed back against this allegations, stating the U.S. had no intelligence indicating this to be the case.
"It's possible that that's what they were trying to do. But it's an open question whether it was successful, we have no indication that there's been any impact," he said.
