Over 2,000 Ukrainian children abducted to Belarus, says Belarusian opposition

The government of Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has participated in the unlawful abduction of children from the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine, the UK-based Sky News website reported on May 23, citing a preliminary report from the Belarusian National Anti-Crisis Management organization in exile.
According to the organization, 2,150 Ukrainian children, including orphans aged 6 to15, were sent to so-called recreational camps and sanatoriums on the territory of Belarus.
Russians have reportedly abducted nearly 20,000 Ukrainian children from the territories they occupy.
On March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued arrest warrants for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and “Children’s Ombudsman” of Russia, Maria Lvova-Belova. They are accused of the unlawful deportation of children from Ukraine to Russia since Feb. 24, 2022.
As explained by the head of the ICC, Peter Hofmansky, the dictator could be arrested in 123 countries that have ratified the Rome Statute.
On April 27, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution recognizing the forced displacement of Ukrainian children to Russia as genocide.
