Ukraine's largest metallurgical plant re-elects Vijay Goyal as chairman
The Supervisory Board of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR), Ukraine's largest mining and metallurgical plant, has re-elected Vijay Goyal as its chairman, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
During a general meeting of shareholders, the powers of the current Supervisory Board members were terminated, and a new term saw the re-election of key figures.
These key figures include technical director Clark David George, administration head Anna Escobedo, independent directors Serhiy Ishchuk and Oleh Lahodyenko, and financial director Vijay Goyal. Sonia Neffati, from ArcelorMittal Luxembourg, was also elected to the Supervisory Board.
The shareholders opted not to elect new members for the audit committee due to its dissolution.
In 2022, AMKR reported a net loss of UAH 49.09 billion ($1.3 billion), contrasting with a net profit of UAH 25.21 billion ($657 million) in 2021.
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is the largest producer of steel, hot metal, and rolled products in Ukraine.
ArcelorMittal Duisburg GmbH (Germany) owns 95.128% of its shares.
ArcelorMittal's parent company reportedly reduced its net profit tenfold in 2023.
