An oil depot in Russia's Rostov Oblast was ablaze for at least 24 hours after a drone attack overnight on June 18, Russian Telegram channel ASTRA reported on June 19.
Video footage from the scene, released on the night of June 19, shows the extent of the damage and the ongoing firefighting efforts.
The drones targeted oil terminals operated by Azovprodukt and DonTerminal, Russian media wrote earlier.
One drone struck a fuel tank at Azovprodukt, causing a significant fuel spill and igniting a fire. Another drone hit an empty tank at DonTerminal.
The fire was localized by 5:30 a.m. MSK, covering an area of 3,200 square meters, Rostov Oblast Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported.
June 18 attack on Rostov oil depots
Ukrainian Security Service drones were responsible for the June 18 attack on the Azov and Azovnefteprodukt oil depots in Russia's Rostov Oblast,informed sources told NV.
The facilities collectively house 22 fuel storage tanks.
Drones targeted fuel tanks in Azov, Rostov governor Vasiliy Golubev confirmed earlier.
Local social media was flooded with numerous photos and videos showing a massive blaze after the attack.
