Occupiers increase security checks in Melitopol, according to city mayor Fedorov
Security checks have been intensified in the Russian-occupied city of Melitopol, the city’s mayor, Ivan Fedorov, said on Telegram on Aug. 20.
Fedorov called on citizens to be cautious as the Russian occupiers are intensely checking phones, cars, documents, etc., belonging to local inhabitants.
"They have tightened a circle around people and intensified checks," Fedorov said.
"Melitopol residents reported checks at all checkpoints in the city and the surrounding area. This could be related to pro-Ukrainian media sources being hacked earlier this morning, and the enemy could have obtained information about people in the temporarily occupied areas who were subscribers."
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
