Russia’s Novoshakhtinsk oil plant, which supplies the Russian army with fuel, hit by drone attack

The city of Novoshakhtinsk in Russia’s Rostov Oblast was attacked by drones overnight on April 12, Rostov Oblast Governor, Vasyly Golubev, claimed.
Air defenses were repelling a drone attack near Novoshakhtinsk, he wrote shortly after 2:00 a.m. MSK.
The threat was repulsed about an hour later, he claimed.
“Air defense forces destroyed four drones, and according to preliminary information, no casualties or damage to objects were recorded as a result of the attack,” he claimed adding that "information was being clarified."
The last operative oil refinery in Rostov Oblast — Novoshakhtinsk Oil Products Plant - suspended its work after a drone attack, Ukrainian military intelligence officer, Andriy Yusov, said on March 13.
The plant is a military facility that supplies the Russian army with fuel, he noted.
“Some Russian plans will be disrupted as a result of this stoppage, providing some additional time for Ukraine’s Defense Forces,” he said.
Attacks on Russian refineries
Ukraine has consistently targeted Russian refineries with long-range UAVs since late January.
Ukraine’s SBU Security Service has carried out 13 such attacks deep in Russian territory, agency head, Vasyl Malyuk, said earlier.
Ukraine's drone strike campaign on Russian oil refineries has disabled as much as 12% of the country's processing capabilities, Malyuk said.
Oil products export revenue makes up one-third of the Russian budget and constitutes the "lion's share" of its military budget, he said.
