International money transfers available at Nova Poshta branches as NovaPay launches MoneyGram service
From now on it became possible to receive an international
MoneyGram transfer at any Nova Poshta office – money to be issued
immediately after the transfer is made, NovaPay press service reported.
There is no need to create any accounts to use this service, receiving cash will be free for the recipient, and will take a few minutes, the company said.
"We are expanding our own services for the convenience of our customers,” Andriy Kryvoshapko, NovaPay CEO said.
“They can receive international transfers using Western Union, RIA, and now also MoneyGram as well."
Steps to be taken to quickly receive a transfer are the following:
- contact the nearest Nova Poshta office
- tell the operator the MoneyGram transfer number
- provide identity documents
- receive funds in cash.
MoneyGram provides worldwide online and offline money transfer services. It has more than 150 million customers.
NovaPay is an international financial service founded in 2001 as a part of the Nova group providing online and offline financial services at Nova Poshta branches. The company has about 13,000 employees in more than 3,600 Nova Poshta offices throughout Ukraine, the company’s website said. According to the National Bank of Ukraine,
Ukraine’s National Bank data indicates the company accounts for 35% of domestic remittance.
NovaPay was the first among non-bank financial institutions to present a mobile application in which all usual money transactions were available, it was reported in December 2023. 500 clients already purchased NovaPay securities for UAH 200 million (almost $5 million) as of March.
Nova Poshta group of companies changed its name to NOVA, it became known in early 2024. The company intends to invest UAH 7 billion in Ukraine in 2024 as well.
