‘No red lines’ for French support of Ukraine — Macron

President Emmanuel Macron said that ‘there are no limits and
no red lines’ for far Paris is willing to go in support of Ukraine’s cause, La Libre reported on March 7.
Macron made the remarks during a meeting with the leaders of French political parties, outlining the government’s foreign policy goals when it comes to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The chair of the right-wing Rassemblement National (National Rally, previously Front National) party, Jordan Bardella, pleaded with Macron during a nearly three-hour meeting that "France should not go to war with Russia" after the French leader's recent statements about the possible deployment of Western troops to Ukraine.
According to the head of the Greens, Marine Tondelier, Macron said that "since we are facing Vladimir Putin, who clearly has no limits, to set some for ourselves would be to give him an advantage."
After a conference in support of Ukraine held in Paris on Feb. 26, Macron said that Ukraine's Western allies would form a coalition to provide the Ukrainian armed forces with long-range weapons, and that sending Western troops to Ukraine in the future is not off the table.
In response to Macron's statements, several NATO countries publicly rejected the idea of sending troops to Ukraine, including Poland, the United States, Germany, Czechia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas did not reject the possibility of sending troops but clarified that they will send them only for training missions. General Onno Eichelsheim, Chief of the General Staff of the Dutch Army, said that "all options should be left open."
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
