Ukraine targets Morozovsk airfield and oil depots in Russian oblasts

Ukrainian forces launched an attack on the Morozovsk airfield and targeted oil depots in three Russian oblasts overnight, the Ukrainian General Staff reported on Telegram on Aug. 3.
The attack on Morozovsk hit ammunition storage facilities, including those containing guided aviation bombs. The extent of damage to air defense systems and aircraft is still being verified.
Several oil depots and fuel storage facilities used by Russians in Belgorod, Kursk, and Rostov oblasts were attacked. The General Staff confirmed hits and fires in at least two fuel tanks.
Russian Telegram channels reported a fire at the Morozovsk airfield in Rostov Oblast on August 3 following the strike. Witnesses recorded the detonation of munitions.
Russian sources reported a fire at fuel tanks in the Kamensky district of Rostov Oblast. The Telegram channel Astra suggested that drones targeted the Atlas plant, which specializes in storing petroleum products and supplying fuel to the Russian army.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that its air defense systems intercepted 75 drones overnight: 36 over Rostov Oblast, eight over Kursk, nine over Belgorod, 17 over Oryol, two over Ryazan, and one drone each over Voronezh, the Sea of Azov, and Krasnodar.
