Blast and inferno rock Russian-held Ukrainian city of Makiyivka near Donetsk

A massive explosion occurred in the temporarily occupied city of Makiyivka, Donetsk Oblast on Dec. 9, with a huge blaze emitting thick black smoke seen shortly after, local Telegram channels reported.
According to eyewitnesses, the smoke and flames are visible from a long distance. Photos and videos from the scene have been posted online.
The cause of the explosion is currently unknown. Ukrainian journalist Denys Kazanskyi believes that the fire probably started after a strike on a Russian oil depot.
The Typical Donetsk Telegram channel published a photo of what is likely to be a missile fragment that could have hit a fuel depot or oil depot in Makiyivka.
The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Dec. 5 the destruction of a Russian ammunition depot and BM-21 Grad in the temporarily occupied Donetsk.
