A person had died in a gas explosion in Obukhiv district, Kyiv Oblast, and another individual was injured the State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported on Dec. 13.
The explosion took place in a private residential building on Central Street in the village of Chayki.
Upon arrival at the scene, rescue teams were able to extract a man and a woman from the rubble.
“The woman, in a state of shock, was extricated from under the rubble and handed over to paramedics for emergency medical assistance,” said the DSNS.
“Unfortunately, the man was subsequently pronounced dead.”
Rescue operations remain ongoing.
