Kharkiv residents celebrate City Day for first time since the war began
On City Day, Aug. 23-24, festive lighting was turned on
along the main street of Kharkiv, just as it was before Russia’s full-scale
invasion.
This was the first time since the start of Russia’s full-scale
war that the festive lights were illuminated on Kharkiv’s main street, bringing
a pleasant surprise to the residents.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov also came to see the festive
city.
“Love for Kharkiv is stronger than all the destruction.
Kharkiv is not just buildings; Kharkiv is its people. Those who fight, work,
and never lose hope every day. The residents of Kharkiv are the strength of our
city. We stand together. And no enemy can destroy what we build in our hearts.
Every day, our Kharkiv becomes stronger. Even in these toughest times, it is
beautiful because we fill it with our love,” he said.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
