Ireland begins training Ukrainian sappers in Cyprus

military personnel have started training Ukraine’s Armed Forces in bomb
disposal and demining, Ireland’s Chief of Defense Staff, Lt. Gen. Sean Clancy
told the Irish Times on May 9.
"Ireland has committed to sending up to 30 Defense Forces personnel to take part in training in areas such as ordnance disposal and combat medicine," the report reads.
Clancy said that Irish troops are already in Cyprus and are providing basic training to Ukrainian forces in the disposal of unexploded ordnance and mine clearance.
The training is done under the auspices of EU Military Assistance Mission Ukraine (EUMAM) – a program which has EU member states committed to helping Kyiv muster fresh troops outside Ukraine, where they remain beyond the reach of Russian long-range weapons.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
