Interior Ministry reveals number of Ukrainians missing amid war

Almost 24,000 people are currently listed in the Register of Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Leonid Timchenko said on Ukrainian national television on June 7.
"As of today, this figure is 23,876 people," he said.
Commenting on the aftermath of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant explosion, the Interior Ministry representative said three calls were received in the last day regarding people missing under "special circumstances" in Kherson Oblast.
Tymchenko urged anyone whose relatives go missing to immediately contact police.
He also noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is working together with the Office of the Commissioner for the Rights of Persons Missing under Special Circumstances to search for missing persons.
Relatives can obtain an extract from the register.
Ukraine launched a unified register on May 2, mainly for missing soldiers, but also for civilians.
